We currently are not selling our organically-fed poultry or eggs. The following is merely informational.
Hook Organics is experimenting with free-range, organically-fed poultry and eggs. This is currently only for our personal consumption, but natural poultry and eggs may be available in the future. Our chicken eggs come in a rainbow of colors: white, cream, beige, chocolate brown, aqua blue, sage, and olive green. We have an eclectic flock of heritage hens who enjoy lazy days exploring our farm and eating bugs and plants from sunup to sundown.
We put together a short informational video about hatching guinea keets. Dedicated to use organic farming practices, we have to be creative in our methods of insect control, and guineas constantly forage for bugs and seeds while leaving our produce alone. We raise lavender guinea fowl currently, but our broody chickens do the work of hatching and raising the guineas until they are a few weeks old. Guinea mothers are notoriously bad at keeping their offspring warm and dry, but chickens are excellent at this task (and use less energy than an incubator and heat lamp)!
Meat Chickens
The newest addition to our farm is pastured chicken supplemented with organic whole grains. We are currently raising cornish cross chickens as well as brahmas, partridge rocks, and other dual-purpose chickens. Instead of being confined to a cramped barn, they spend the majority of their days foraging with the turkeys in our pasture and enjoying lazy afternoons in the shade.

Broad-Breasted & Heritage Turkeys
We have a small flock of free-range and pastured turkeys that are also fed organic grains.

Guinea Fowl
We "employ" a hearty flock of lavender guinea fowl as organic insect control on our farm. On occasion, we hatch extras to use as meat birds. In addition to being great bug-eaters, guineas alert us to intruders such as hawks and snakes.
